Redevelopment into housing construction of the vacant Pastor of Arskerk and the adjacent parish house in Delft. The church is transformed and given a second life. The very circular construction of the church is preserved. The dome and the walls are removed so that autonomous purely circular colonnade remains. Within this spatial construction, eight homes are placed on the church hall floor. At the place of the old presbytery there are five houses. In the back of the deep garden is a detached villa projected. Sustainability aspects also receive great attention. The green character of the environment is enhanced by the transparent construction. Parking is realized entirely on site.
Since September 2016, the Heelweg Foundation has been involved as a developer in the project. This Foundation aims to stimulate special housing initiatives in which collectivity and sustainability are central. Gerard Schouten, architect, was the founder and stimulator of the foundation. By making part of his legacy available to the foundation, he made it possible to support concrete initiatives.
The application for an Environmental Permit was submitted to the municipality of Delft in February 2017. In the spring of 2017, the sale of this unique project is expected to start. If the spatial planning procedures can be completed quickly, the construction of the project will be able to start in the autumn of 2017.
